Most companies have a color called Soft Black now. Get that if you're nervous. I usually dye my hair black (not the purple black, but I think it's called Intense Black), but I could hear my family's dismay if I showed up with that haircolor to Diana's wedding ... so I went with the Soft Black before her wedding. I really like it. It's just a hair darker than the darkest brown. In fact, I just dyed my hair again tonight with Soft Black. I think you could do it. (P.S. I, personally, think black hair looks better with some kind of bangs. You have bangs, yes?)
